LG Optimus Vu II Specs Leaked Ahead of Release

Another day, another spec leak. Today we’ll be discussing the LG Optimus Vu II leak. You have to wonder about these “leaks” sometimes. After all, it was announced in August that we should see this beast in the wild in September, so the specs are inevitable at this point. Plus there’s that Samsung Galaxy Note II, right around the corner. LG may have gotten a little antsy and “leaked” the specs, not to be outdone.

The leak itself reveals a dual-core Snapdragon S4 (Qualcomm MSM8960) processor with 2GB of RAM. Other niceties include an 8MP camera, NFC, LTE, and a slightly larger 2150mAh battery than its predecessor. The screen size will stay the same, as will the resolution with a 1024×768, 5-inch display. The device will also ship with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. On paper, it seems like the Vu II won’t be on par with the Note II, however it hopes to narrow the gap by offering a universal remote feature. We’ll have to see how they both perform in the real world however. Do you plan on purchasing one of these “phablets” soon? Let us know either way as I find the many opinions on this niche type of device fascinating.

LG flaunts Pocket Photo, claiming smallest mobile printer

In a segment that may be slowly dying, LG thinks there may still be room for more. Enter their latest in mobile photo printing devices, the Pocket Photo. LG is claiming their mobile printer is the smallest of its kind measuring just 2.8 x 4.7 x 0.9-inches. Photos from a compatible device are transferred to the Pocket Photo via NFC coupled with an Android app. Filters can be applied to the pictures through said Android app, however it’s unknown at this time just how robust the feature is. This micro-printer will be hitting Korean stores for $169 (USD), although there’s no word on a release outside of Korea.

Motorola XT890 Smartphone Takes A Stroll Through The FCC, May Be The First Sign Of Motorola’s First Intel Phone

Now that the new DROID RAZR members are out in the open, all eyes are pointed towards Motorola’s upcoming Intel-powered beast and thanks to the FCC, we may have our first clue of what the device may be. A mysterious XT890 smartphone wandered through the FCC hallways and highlights a device that has GSM/WCDMA bands— which give it the clear indication it would be an AT&T-branded smartphone “if” it were released out here in the States. In addition, the mysterious smartphone will feature dual-band WiFi and Bluetooth certifications, which opens the door for NFC possibly being featured in the smartphone.

No other details for now, but we suspect we’ll see more information very soon…

T Mobile Confirms Snapdragon S4 Chip In Samsung Galaxy S Relay 4G

We previously thought that the Galaxy S Relay 4G would have the Qualcomm Snapdragon S3 chip, but T-Mobile confirmed that it will actually have the Snapdragon S4 chip. The improved technology should make the phone more appealing to T-Mobile customers looking for something in Samsung’s Galaxy line. The rest of the specs are the same as previously reported with a 4-inch display, Ice Cream Sandwich and NFC capabilities.

The Samsung Galaxy S Relay 4G will be in stores on September 19 for $150 after the rebate. Does the improved technology make you want this phone more? Does it even make a difference?

T Mobile Galaxy S Relay Will Be Released on September 19th

Last week T-Mobile said the Samsung Galaxy S Relay would be available in the coming weeks, and today they told us the official release date will be September 19th. The Galaxy S Relay has gone through a few delays and name changes to keep it from hitting the shelves for the targeted August date.

Although it resembles a Galaxy S III, the specs don’t quite match up. It sports a 4-inch WVGA (800 x 480) display, last year’s Snapdragon S3 dual-core clocked at 1.5GHz, 1GB of RAM, a 5MP rear camera, 1.3MP front camera, NFC, and Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. It does have a QWERTY slide-out so if that’s what you desire, this might be the phone for you. It’s priced at $150 after rebate. Are any of you planning on getting this phone?
