[Video] Swype Working On Galaxy Nexus Thanks To XDA

Any Galaxy Nexus owners out there that have been waiting for Swype to work on ICS? Well, thanks to XDA member theb1rdm4n, Swype has been modified to work on the Galaxy Nexus. This is why we all love Android and give applause  to all the devs like theb1rdm4n that help make our devices great. Hit up the break to see Swype running on the GN as well as a link to download the .apk. Just make sure you have Unknown Sources checked off under Security before installing.

Original Motorola Droid Gets Some ICS Love In A Pre-Alpha Build [courtesy of XDA]

Gotta love CyanogenMod! Based on the newest CM9, the good folks over at XDA have whipped up a pre-Alpha build to enjoy on the OG Droid. Remember, this build isn’t meant to be your daily ROM and should only be attempted by folks to are comfortable making backups and flashing ROMs. I’m one of the sad bunch that is dying for a Galaxy Nexus, but enjoying an ICS ROM on my Droid X for now. If you can’t get your hands on a new GN, a ROM is how we will have to fly for the time being. Don’t forget to checkout any details and updates right down there in the source link.

Verizon Galaxy Nexus Poses With Extended Battery, Flaunts Its Slim Figure

We may not have a Galaxy Nexus yet, but it doesn’t mean we can’t get a glimpse of one of its accessories in action. The fine team at Droid Life have stumbled upon that 2100mAH accessory. You know, that oh-so heavy duty battery we spoke of before? There has been minor chatter around regarding the extended battery potentially adding some extra girth to the phone. Well kids, you need not worry any longer as the extended battery will make little-to-no difference in the size of the phone. And for those who are non-believers of the extended battery’s slim size, there’s actual pictures and video demonstrating the GN wearing the extended battery and you can clearly see the phone remains relatively slim. I’ve got a funny feeling that many customers will go after the accessory now knowing it won’t make their phone resemble a paperweight.
