Newest LG Nexus leaked pictures reveal more of its design

It sure has been an exciting, leak filled week for those following all of the newest LG Nexus news. From the first signs of the device in the FCC filings to that strange shot of a bowl of spaghetti, the leaks seem to be coming on a daily basis. This latest set of shots comes courtesy of a generous poster over at the XDA forums. As mentioned before, the LG Nexus looks very similar to the Samsung Galaxy Nexus, save for a little shine around the bezel. As far as the innards, here is what the poster reveals:

• CPU: quad core ARMv7 1.5GHz
• RAM: 2 GB
• Memory: 8GB (no SD slot)
• GPU: Adreno 320
• Android version: JellyBeanMR1
• Kernel 3.4.0
• Screen: 768×1184 (320 dpi)
• Camera: 8 MP

Although it may look the same as the Galaxy Nexus, it’s obviously packing a much bigger punch, and with that resolution and DPI, we can deduce that it’ll rock close to a 4.7-inch display. All of these specs fall directly in line with the FCC filing that we ran across last week which revealed a GSM device that’ll lack LTE capabilities which eliminates early thoughts of this device possibly being the Optimus G, but it will still hold its own. At this rate we should hopefully see an official announcement soon. LG Optimus Nexus appears in set of leaked photos

After weeks of countless rumors, the LG Optimus Nexus has purportedly been spotted in the wild. A set of leaked images show off a black slab styled smartphone, similar to LG’s Optimus G, though the device in question appears to be running atop stock Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean.

The device has been given the moniker “Mako”, which lines up nicely with the aquatic codenames of past Nexus devices. Despite the bump in the Android version, the smartphone’s homescreen, icons and status bar remain nearly identical to what we’ve grown accustomed to in Android 4.1.

On the exterior, however, several tweaks have been made to the physical body of the device, compared to the original LG Optimus G. Most notably, the rear camera and flash have been repositioned, hinting at the fact that there could very well be different internals inside.

Given that the LG E960 has already passed the stringent guidelines of the FCC, this may very well be the device that has been making headlines over the past few weeks. In terms of hardware, details remain scarce. However, you can browse the entire set of photos after the break.

T-Mobile branded Samsung Galaxy Note II spotted in the wild

T-Mobile customers can breathe a sigh of relief today. Not just because the Samsung Galaxy Note II has been spotted with T-Mobile branding, but because the device doesn’t seem to feature the same carrier branded home button as the Verizon variant that we saw last month. While T-Mobile has already confirmed that the Note II would be arriving later this year, a recent FCC filing suggests the launch may not be too far off. Either way, be sure to take a look at some additional images of the Titan Grey Galaxy Note II after the break.

Sprint’s Galaxy Note II spotted in FCC database along with 4G LTE 10.1 tablets

Over the weekend we reported on some listings in the FCC database for Samsung Galaxy Note II devices for AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon. Missing from the list were Sprint and U.S. Cellular versions despite a previous announcement that these carriers would also get the device. Potential Sprint buyers of the device can catch a little breath as they continue their wait as filings for the Sprint version have now surfaced at the FCC. Going by model number SPH-L900, the Samsung device includes Sprint compatible radio bands.

In addition to the Sprint version of the Galaxy Note II, two other Samsung devices surfaced, both of them 4G LTE compatible 10.1-inch tablets. The devices have model numbers SPH-P500 and SPH-i915 and are believed to be Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 models for Sprint and Verizon.

Samsung Galaxy Camera passes by FCC and will likely be featured on AT&T’s 3G network

Samsung continues their connected devices push by adding the Galaxy Camera. A variation of the Galaxy Camera made it through the FCC with 3G connectivity and looks like it will be on the AT&T network. This likely won’t be the only variation released in the US and there is already one available for pre-order in the UK. There is a likelihood that the camera will also be available on other LTE networks, but those devices just haven’t made it to the FCC yet. With the imminent arrival of the Galaxy Camera, Samsung hopes to start a new era of  Smart Cameras. It is not known when the Galaxy Camera will be available on this side of the pond, but if Samsung has their way, it will be the first of many more android powered devices on the horizon.

AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon versions of Samsung Galaxy Note II may be in FCC pipeline

As we reported earlier, AT&T and Samsung have released a joint statement regarding the impending release of the Samsung Galaxy Note II. This followed news that Samsung was working with several major carriers to bring the device to the U.S. market. Samsung has scheduled an event for October 24th in New York where it is anticipated a more detailed announcement regarding the Galaxy Note II will be made.

Although no dates for availability in the U.S. and Canadien markets have been made yet, interest in the imminent release will be fueled by the discovery of what appears to be the Galaxy Note II wending its way through the FCC approval process for three different carriers. The first device spotted is an SGH-i317 with specifications that appear to be consistent with AT&T and possible Canadien carriers. Another device going by model number SCH-i605 has CDMA and GSM antennas along with a 700 MHz LTE band appears to be headed to Verizon as a dual-band device. Finally, an SGH-T889 might be headed to T-Mobile based on the inclusion of a 1700 MHz AWS frequency.

T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 Appears on FCC As SGH-T779

T-Mobile seems to often be late to the party when rolling out devices, or maybe it’s just my perception as an 11-year customer when they don’t offer a device I want on day-one like other carriers. However, T-Mobile seems to end up getting most of the same nice devices as the other major carriers eventually. The Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 is no exception in this case. Revealed through FCC filing, the newest tablet in T-Mobile’s stable will be released as the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 (SGH-T779). As is usually the case with device sightings on FCC, we will most likely see the Tab 2 on Magenta’s network within the next couple of months if not late next month. Sony Xperia T Takes A Visit To The FCC, Gets Teardown Treatment For Good Measure

In the spirit of tearing down its other devices before they’re released, Sony has gone ahead and teased us with a full teardown of its upcoming Xperia T smartphone. This now gives us a simplified view of the innards of the smartphone, which doesn’t highlight anything too unfamiliar or shocking. As you can see, there is an unobstructed view of where many of the parts are placed and positioned. The device will feature HSPA+, giving the clear indication that it will likely operate on T-Mobile or (hopefully) AT&T networks, as we have been hinted before.

So now that we have an idea of how the phone’s inside looks, all that’s left now is the actual release date of the smartphone. Hopefully Sony will give us a concrete date soon because you know, many of us are waiting for that smartphone to land in our hands and all. LG Optimus L9 smartphone cruises through FCC

LG’s Optimus L9, the latest phone in LG’s budget-friendly L Series lineup, is one step closer to its European release. The L9 has officially passed through FCC frequency testing which is a good sign that its release should be right around the proverbial corner. If you remember, LG stole the early spotlight before IFA officially kicked off with the announcement of the Optimus L9. The Korean manufacturer touted the phone’s 4.7-inch IPS display, dual-core 1GHz processor, 5-megapixel rear camera, 1GB of RAM, and 4GB of on board storage – not bad at all for this sleek, budget-friendly device. We will of course provide an update when a solid release date is announced.
