US Samsung Galaxy S III Not Likely To Get Jelly Bean Update Until Possibly 2013
Please don’t be upset with me Galaxy S III owners, for I am the bearer of bad (and possibly discouraging) news. As Galaxy S III users in Korea and Europe are enjoying the Jelly Bean update on their devices, Jelly Bean testing has seemingly been not as smooth on the carrier-branded versions here in the States. As reported by the Examiner, the US variants of the device will be among the last to get the update and will see the update by “2013″. This is definitely a bummer too because Samsung has shown its commitment to providing timely updates, but the wireless carriers continue to be a thorn in customers’ sides.
For now, we’ll just need to wait and see if the update truly will be delayed for those of us here in the US. The good thing is that 2013 is just around the corner, so hopefully the wait won’t be too long for those Galaxy S III owners.

Samsung confirms 4-inch ‘mini’ Galaxy S III, to be announced October 11th

Samsung has officially revealed its plans to announce a miniature-sized Galaxy S III on October 11th. In a Korean press conference earlier today, head of Samsung Mobile Communications JK Shin, told reporters that the company would be unveiling a 4-inch version of its current Galaxy S III smartphone.
“We’ll be launching a 4-inch Galaxy S III on the 11th in Germany. There’s a lot of demand for a 4-inch screen device in Europe. Some call it an entry-level device, but we call it ‘mini.”
Unfortunately, details remain scarce, as Shin neglected to talk about any of the device’s specifications. However, it was made clear that the move was brought on by a massive demand for smaller devices in Europe. Shin went on to reiterate that the device would not be entry-level device, but rather a “mini” Galaxy S III with a “full form factor.”

Sony Xperia T release day commercial shows Bond-like action
Today the Sony Xperia T was released in the UK and to commemorate the occasion, Sony released a commercial that resembles a 007 movie. The most exciting part might be at the end when you discover that the phone comes “packed with exclusive Bond content”. This is the second Xperia T commercial Sony has released recently, but this one undoubtedly had a larger budget. Directed by Joe Carnahan, it features a car chase and some explosions that will certainly add to this phone’s high expectations. The phone is only available in the UK right now with a roll out for the rest of Europe not far behind. It will hit the states as the Xperia TL on AT&T soon. Hit the break to watch the commercial.

HTC One X+ to hit Clove in the UK on October 22 for £395
HTC made the One X+ official yesterday and promised an October release in Europe. Clove just announced that they will offer the new HTC flagship starting October 22 for £395 or £474 with VAT. To give you an idea in U.S. dollars, that comes to $630 without VAT. Certainly not cheap, but still cheaper than the Galaxy Note II and the Galaxy S III. They are taking pre-orders now so if you want to jump in, just hit the source link.

HTC makes the One X+ official, to debut this month in Europe and North Asia
HTC finally took the wraps off of the One X+, and as expected, it’s going to have more speed, more storage, and more battery life. There’s nothing shocking about the specs only because most of the rumors came true. It will sport a 4.7-inch 720p Super LCD 2 display, a 1.7GHz quad-core Tegra 3 AP37 processor, 1GB of RAM, 64GB of storage, a 2100mAh battery, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, and Sense 4+. Originally the rumors showed an 1800mAh battery, but we heard it would actually be larger so that’s a good thing. As far as RAM, nobody was ever sure, but we were hoping for 2GB. I guess HTC feels that 1GB will be enough to handle Sense 4+ on top of stock Jelly Bean.
The One X+ will launch in Europe and North Asia in early October and South Asia in November. We fully expect it to arrive in North America as well, but nothing was mentioned other than a separate announcement will take place. No pricing was specified, so we will have to wait till the carriers post something.

Performance, Endurance and Storage
Featuring a 1.7 GHz quad-core NVIDIA® Tegra® 3 AP37 processor and 64GB of internal storage, the HTC One™ X+ LTE version is up to 67% faster than the HTC One™ X1 LTE, making the HTC One™ X+ the best rated Android phone on the market. Developed to be lightning fast, the HTC One™ X+ enables quicker web browsing, fluid gaming and graphic rendering, and speedy downloads, providing effortless usage on the go.
In addition to its increased performance speeds, the HTC One™ X+ introduces extended performance with the inclusion of a 2100 mAh battery, giving you up to 50% (6 hours) more talk time, and longer to browse the web and enjoy your favorite music and videos2.
Imaging, Music and Movies
Combining the amazing camera capabilities of its predecessor3* with a series of intelligent features, powered by SenseTM 4+, the HTC One™ X+ has been designed to deliver the most premium mobile experience. The newly launched Self Portrait mode on the front camera helps you capture high quality photos by intuitively detecting the human face at various angles and applying subtle enhancements to skin and eyes. Sightseeing mode makes sure you’ll always be ready to capture the moment – one touch of the power button bypasses the lock screen and launches directly into the camera. Two new views in Gallery display images and videos and group them according to where and when they were taken.
Exclusively available on HTC smartphones, Beats AudioTM provides authentic, studio-quality sound that delivers the most immersive sound experience with an enhanced audio profile, crisper vocals and detailed high notes for your music, games, movies and videos. Making it easier to listen to music out loud, and through SenseTM 4+, the HTC One™ X+ introduces a new Tap and Go function, which allows you to connect the phone and your music to Beats speakers’4 when you tap them. To disconnect, it is just another quick tap.
Providing exclusive access to thousands of movies through HTC Watch 2.0, the HTC One™ X+ will appeal to both the avid film fan and the casual movie-goer. Combined with the introduction of video hub, another benefit of SenseTM 4+, for the first time you will be able to put all your video entertainment in a single place.
Easy Set Up
A new feature in the HTC One™ X+ is HTC Get Started, a new web service that guides the user painlessly through the set-up and personalisation process from a desktop web browser. Designed to enhance the experience of setting up a phone for the first time, this feature ensures that users will get the most out of their new phone from the beginning. With the touch of a button, users’ phone will reflect the settings and apps that were chosen on the Web. Visit start.htc.com for more details.
Availability
The HTC One™ X+ will be available in Europe and North Asia from October and in South Asia from November 2012. North America will make a separate announcement regarding availability of the HTC One™ X+. Archos 101 XS now available in Europe
Last month, Archos announced their new Gen10 XS line of tablets which offer a sweet, built-in magnetic “Coverboard” that acts as a stand and also a protective case. Today, it looks like one of the Gen10 tablets, the 101 XS, is available for purchase online in Europe. As a little refresher, the 101 XS is the Gen10 XS lineup’s flagship model and comes with a 10.1″ (1280×800) display, a 1.2GHz dual-core OMAP 4470 processor, 16GB of storage and a near-stock Ice Cream Sandwich experience. Nothing about those specs will blow you away, but Archos is hoping that the “Coverboard” feature will set it apart from other tablets out there. The 10″ 101 XS will run you £300. If you pick one up, give us your opinion of this one-of-a-kind tablet.
