Samsung Galaxy Stellar Headed to Verizon, Pre loaded with Amazon Appstore?

We now have news of a new mid-range Samsung phone called the Galaxy Stellar that is headed to Verizon’s 4G LTE network. According to a leaked screenshot from Droid Life, the phone will cost $99 and include a few noteworthy features. For starters it’s listed as having a “Starter Mode”, which could be tied to the new Basic and Easy home screen modes in the Jelly Bean Galaxy SIII update. The more intriguing part is that this could be the first Android smartphone pre-loaded with the Amazon Appstore rather than the Play Store.

What do you think about all this? Are you intrigued as much as we are? Hit up the comments and let us know what you think.

ICS update for HTC Rezound coming at end of July

ICS update for HTC Rezound coming at end of July

We first reported that the Ice Cream Sandwich update for Verizon’s HTC Rezound was coming due to an early test build that leaked last month. According to a letter from an HTC rep to a consumer obtained by Droid Life, we should expect the official update as early as the end of July and continuing through August. Hit the break to see the full letter.

Dear Andrew S,

Thank you for contacting HTC regarding the Android 4.0 update. I understand that you are excited to receive the update for your HTC Rezound. I will be happy to share the information I have with you.

The ICS (Android 4.0) update will be released for the Rezound by the end of this month (July) with final pushes in August. Due to localization, testing, and partner approvals, updates do not roll out to all devices at the same time. For devices on a wide variety of carriers and in many countries, rollouts can take up to 45 days from the initial update to reach everyone. It’s almost here, Andrew! We are as excited as you are. I hope you enjoy the rest of your week!

There you have it folks! I’m glad to see that HTC hasn’t forgotten about Rezound users and are releasing the much anticipated ICS update relatively soon.

Say Hello To Verizon’s Motorola DROID RAZR HD Smartphone

Say Hello To Verizon’s Motorola DROID RAZR HD Smartphone

Well friends, one of the biggest kept secrets for 2012 is finally out of the bag. After seeing a hint here and another one there– we finally have a clearer look of the upcoming Motorola DROID RAZR HD smartphone. While we already knew Verizon was set to bring the latest 2012 refresh of the RAZR line at some point this summer, both it as well as Motorola has stayed mum and refused to give up any details of the intriguing device. Thanks to our friends at Droid Life, you can see the smartphone sure is a beauty. The overall appearance of the smartphone is similar to the existing RAZR phones, but you’ll notice the back of the smartphone is a pure slab of Kevlar. In addition, you’ll notice the smartphone has its camera positioned right in the middle, which will likely bring a high megapixel count and topnotch video recording capabilities. Also of note is the positioning of the micro HDMI-out and USB ports are at the side of the device, the specific confirmation of the smartphone having the on-screen navigational keys and the ample 3,300mAh battery.

The phone sure is looking like a fine device, isn’t it? While we have a better idea of how the phone will look like, we still are waiting for an idea of when the smartphone will formally land in Verizon stores. The good thing is the wait shouldn’t be too much longer as Motorola already gave us a head’s up the smartphone would be on it’s way soon, very soon.

DROID Incredible 4G LTE accessories arrive at indirect sales channels, Release pushed to July?

DROID Incredible 4G LTE accessories arrive at indirect sales channels, Release pushed to July?

We just got word that some DROID Incredible 4G LTE accessories are arriving at indirect sales channels for Verizon Wireless. This means the launch should be fairly close, but we’re also hearing that we probably won’t see it until the first week in July due to software issues. This certainly doesn’t surprise me since this is Verizon we’re talking about.

Actually this phone is way overdue since it’s not even a One X and barely a One S since it lacks the fantastic camera software of the One Series. Droid Life recently reported a June 21st date, which seems realistic as well.

I guess it comes down to the source, and our source is very confident that we won’t see this mid-level phone until closer to Independence Day. More pics after the break

Best Buy Galaxy S III pre-orders expected to arrive by June 28th

Best Buy Galaxy S III pre orders expected to arrive by June 28th

While we are still waiting for a firm date as to just when you can expect to take delivery of a Galaxy S III in the US, Best Buy have given us some hope that it will be before the month is out.

Customers who pre-ordered the device from Best Buy have been furnished with a sales agreement suggesting that the device should be in stores from June 28th. One such customer took the time to scan the document and send it on the team over at Droid Life who shared it with the rest of the tech world.

It’s worth baring in mind that Best Buy have a real hit and miss track record when it comes to launch dates so I’d suggest holding fire before booking that Thursday off work to hit the shops. That said, stranger things have happened so keep your fingers crossed.

Verizon’s Galaxy S III Retail Price Set At $599 And $649, Encourages Customers To Have Their Wallets Open And Ready

Verizon’s Galaxy S III Retail Price Set At $599 And $649, Encourages Customers To Have Their Wallets Open And Ready

When it rains, it pours folks. Such is the case with Verizon’s upcoming Samsung Galaxy S III smartphone. We’ve already seen a sign-up page and even leaked shots of the device this morning, but we now have an idea of how much customers will need to fork over if they want to get their hands on the phone. According to the gang at Droid Life, the Verizon flavor of the Galaxy S III will be priced at $199.99 and $249.99 on-contract for the 16GB and 32GB models, respectively. Not too shabby a price if you ask me, but you may recall how we highlighted Verizon will be switching to shared data plans within the next few weeks. This means that those of you unlimited data users will need to be prepared to lose that precious unlimited data should you choose to renew your contract and buy the mouthwatering smartphone.

However, we realize that some of you covet the unlimited data way too much and would rather just pay full price for the smartphone instead. With that in mind, Droid Life also reports the smartphone will be priced at $599 and $649 for the 16GB and 32GB models— which doesn’t seem all that unreasonable considering you get a premium features which include you know… S Voice and all. There’s no word on when Verizon’s Galaxy S III will be released, but considering Sprint and T-Mobile will be releasing the smartphone in a few weeks, we suspect Verizon’s version will arrive around that time as well.
