Official Twitter App Gets ICS, Kindle Fire, and NOOK Updates

The official Twitter app for Android received a user interface refresh in December, but was lacking full Ice Cream Sandwich compatibility. The latest version (v3.1.0), released yesterday, includes tweaks for ICS, and is also available for the increasingly popular Kindle Fire. The NOOK Color and NOOK Tablet updates are coming tomorrow. The Android Market page lists the following new features and fixes:

What’s in this version:

  1. Swipe shortcut
  2. Improved scrolling and network performance
  3. Improved support for devices running Ice Cream Sandwich
  4. Confirmation dialog for Find Friends
  5. Security improvements
  6. New languages: Filipino, Simplified Chinese
  7. Many other bug fixes, improvements, and polish
Though this update improves ICS compatibility, it doesn’t seem to be fully tablet optimized yet. The layout on my Motorola Xoom Wi-Fi still does not make the best use of the tablet’s larger screen, but it is still completely usable.

With last year’s addition of multiple accounts and push updates, along with the ever-improving user interface, there’s no reason to not give this a try. Grab it from the market link or QR code below!
